Don't worry about the people from your past.
There's a reason they didn't make it into your future.

Déjà vu and Curiousity
Why those two words? Because it pretty much sums up the overall feelings of the day.
I'm actually a very private person, so I won't go all emo on you right here where billions of people could read my words of woe. If I ever do open up, however, let me say that I'm a fan of poems and symbolisms. My best writings are my most personal ones, and I like to think that I'm good at 'masking' my inner turbulence behind my words. I don't know if I will write anything worthy today though. I really want to, but I have PMS and it freaking hurts. I can't think straight. I. Want. To. Scream.
Déjà vu (dzhä v
) :
Because something very familliar happened today, in a way where it kinda gutted me a little. Though I was a little bit surprised that it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Maybe because what I saw wasn't as bad as the one before. Maybe because I was in so much pain before, it made what I felt didn't matter as much. And maybe... Well, maybe it's just time.
Curiousity (kyr

) :
I both love and fear prodding the unknown. I haven't felt this curious in a while. In a loooooong while, let me say. It's like jabbing around in the dark. I'm scared shitless and I don't even know if I want to go on, but I won't lie. I'm curious about that light I see in the distance. And that was probably why I wasn't bothered about the déjà vu thing that should have bothered me today.

festival wars.
In June '09, good stuff is heading down to Manchester, Tennessee:

Whoa, that's a mouthful. Look at the line-up. MGMT! Of Montreal! Raphael Saadiq! Citizen Cope! Crystal Castles! Band of Horses! Coheed and Cambria! The Decemberists! Dude, IT'S PERFECTION.
While we, in Kuala Lumpur, gets this in March:

"A four-day, multi-stage camping festival held on a beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee every June. Bonnaroo brings together some of the best performers in rock and roll, along with dozens of artists in complementary styles such as jazz, Americana, hip-hop, electronica, and just about any contemporary music you can think of. In addition to dozens of epic performances, the festival's 100-acre entertainment village buzzes around the clock with attractions and activities including a classic arcade, on-site cinema, silent disco, comedy club, theater performers, a beer festival, and a music technology village. For its peaceful vibe, near-flawless logistics, and unrivaled entertainment options, Rolling Stone magazine named this revolutionary entertainment experience one of the 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll." (taken from its Myspace page)

If you can't read the line-up clearly, I'll just mention the only international act there is: N.E.R.D. And rumour has it, Pharell Williams won't even be joining the rest of the band in KL... What? I know, UNFORGIVABLE. This is such a let down from last year's Incubus, John Legend and The Roots. People are already trying to re-sell their tickets...
For the Pineapple Concerts Sdn Bhd guys: I'm sure you tried your best, but you did a bad move on selling the early bird tickets without having the line-up confirmed. We had our hopes on Coldplay, Foo Fighters, RHCP and god knows whatever hearsay come our way, and then - BAM! - we get bits and pieces of N.E.R.D. What happened?
On a happier note: JAMIROQUAI is performing for SPEEDZONE! Hell yes.

3 more reasons to love MGMT.
Ah, my two favourite potheads trekking around London town with their dark humor and dripping sarcasm. ♥
"Maybe it's 'cause we're hippies."
"Yeah."
Pfft. Oh you, hilarious boys.
You know, I haven't liked a band this much in eons. And when I say 'like' I meant that in a horrid sense. As in, not just like their music. But also at how amazingly cool they are. I'm not even gonna start on describing how much I love Andrew VanWyngarden. I want to move to Brooklyn because of Andrew VanWyngarden (though I think it was mentioned somewhere that he's originally from Memphis.. Heck, I'd move to Memphis for Andrew VanWyngarden).
Dude, I think I'm bordering on 'freakishly fanatical'. I could scream ten thousand decibels if they ever said 'Hello' to me on the streets. I could start clawing their clothes off. I could pin them down before you could even say 'MGMT' and take them both in one-- Okay, I'm lying. Prolly not that much. But when was the last time I gushed over a frontman?
P.S: Andrew's obviously high as a kite in all three vids, lol. It's weird how I dig watching stoned boys doing whatever they're doing.

raping memories.
We fold our clothes and hold our calls
We pack our things in instrument cases
So we could sing with our guitars
A song that's tinted with forgotten faces
A little time, a pinch of tears
A little trip to go out West
What's this, I hear?
A song you sing?
"A dirty trick in raping memories.."
I heard a story of a girl
Who closed her eyes and almost died
For what she saw, she took her life
For what she remembered, she survived
Time is an angel in disguise
If not for time, she wouldn't last
For here today she stands upright
Renouncing the love she once forgot

food, glorious food!
Oh my god. Oh my god. Mmmm. Yes. Yes. Yes. Insert name. Insert name. Ohh. Oh god. Oh GOD. Yes. Yes. Ohh YES! YES! YES!
I'm sorry, did I disturb you?
This is what I do. When I get excited over food, I give out tiny euphoric noises my friends call 'foodgasms'. Pssh. I don't care what people call them. Food takes me to A Happy Place and that's all I bloody care about! Happy Place! Whee!
Now I am resting dreamily in A Happy Place without even eating a bite. Ah. It was made possible thanks to The Omnomicon. I love you Omnomicon whoever-site-owner. Join me in holy matrimony. Have my baby. We'll make good food with our growing love - you cook, I eat. We'll fit perfectly like missing pieces in a puzzle!
Don't tell me these pictures doesn't make you want to lick the monitor a little bit. Mmmh.

Lovely.
The best thing about The Omnomicon, is that it's a cooking website. And it gives extremely easy step-by-step instructions for amateur (or lousy) cooks like me! Plus, it gives out several diet recipes according to the calories and fat percentage. Perfecto. Maybe someday, I'll impress you with something like this:

Mmm, tie-dye rainbow cake. There's actually a lot of baking soda involved in this particular one, but who cares when food looks that hot!

three times a fool.
1. Misunderstanding.
It's amazing how foolish a young folk could be; heaving high hopes upon her shoulders, never minding how hot that Summer was, never minding those beads of sweat rolling down her neck. Who are they to tell her that 'ladies do not sweat'? She did not care. She saw the most beautiful reflection in his eyes. That reflection was proof that he saw miles and miles into her. She knew that he loved her much more than she could ever love him. She could look at him without feeling afraid, and tell him just how much she understood him. Even if she wasn't really seeing him at all. Now she misses him the most, but what is she missing, really? His love, or a mere shadow of her own perfection?
2. Mistake.
Zap! - and that's how fast it was. Too much, too soon, that she couldn't even begin to think about the consequences. Everything was a whirl of eye contacts and phone calls and conversations over coffee- She was wrong wrong wrong, but she was so taken by his charm that it felt so right right right- Then the bell tolled, ending as abruptly as when it first rang, and she skipped back to reality with both feet hitting the ground. Crash! - and that's how hard it was. She had lost her pride. Perhaps, even, more than once. And that hurt more than any bloody papercut sliding back and forth against her skin. Oh, how she would rather bleed..

3. Misinterpretation.
All of a sudden, she was back to square one. He was the first obstacle that came to her, emitting a different kind of aura that wasn't exactly mutual with hers. Everyone liked him.. although just, except her. She was afraid to know him. She was afraid she'd like him as much as the rest of them. Yet he was a persistent little fellow, always knocking on her door, bringing in tales of himself as though prodding her to open that book she has so fiercely guarded ever since. He brought interesting stories up his sleeves; spilling so much of himself that she often wondered if it was okay for her to know, saying so much that it made her feel like an unwilling intruder of his privacy. And that was quite unfair, wasn't it? She kept her book locked while he glaringly flashed his own for her to see. But then what do you do when your gut feeling says 'no'? She opened the book anyway, and let him read from it, page after page. It was barely a chapter when he fell silent and backed out through the same door he'd always used to knock. Just as she was starting to want him. She wondered what went wrong.

fashion is-
Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that it must be altered every six months.Sarcasm is fun, especially when it comes straight from Mr. Wilde himself.

the shoes i want.

The shoes I bought.

Aren't they beautifuuuuuuul??
It's mad, I tell you. I don't usually opt for heels higher than flats, but these pair of babies are much too lovely to turn a blind eye on. God, I blew nearly half of my month's salary for these pretties. Next time I drool over another pair of killer heels, someone please remind me there are bills to be paid..
No regrets!
